About Sherkin North Shore

Sherkin North Shore provides a unique and rich experience.

Mike and Kathy O’Connor created Sherkin North Shore in 2014. Known for their warm hospitality and love of cooking the food at Sherkin North Shore has become well known and loved in Roaringwater Bay and West Cork where Mick has a flare for Asian dishes and Kathy is known for some great family classics. Both Kathy and Mick have a great passion for music, dancing and literature. Through the first seven years of the business, they have focused on attracting groups and retreats to the island, notably the Open Ear Music Festival being the major highlight from 2016-2019.

Kathy and Mike’s son Daniel has just joined the business. Daniel brings a massive love of the outdoors to the business with a great love for water sports and more recently gardening. If you are looking for an adventure on the island Daniel will be able to give great advice
